Goods Receipt

What happens at the door decides every step after it

The truck waits at the door. Somebody picks up the delivery note, reads the lines one by one, compares them with what is on the pallet, and then keys it all in. Because that is slow, most warehouses shorten it: the goods come in and "we'll count them later". From that moment your stock carries an uncertainty whose source nobody knows — and it surfaces not at count time, but in a wrong shipment.

The bill for skipping the check at the door

  • A short delivery cannot be reported to the supplier in time; the window to object closes.
  • An over-delivery enters stock without anybody knowing which order it belongs to.
  • The wrong product is accepted, and the error surfaces months later at the customer.
  • Because the note and the actual receipt disagree, supplier reconciliation becomes manual work.

You do not have to read the delivery note

The iyibir WMS AI assistant scans the incoming supplier document, matches the lines against your own product records, and hands you a prepared receipt screen. Instead of typing lines, you simply confirm them.

  • The document is scanned and lines are matched to product records automatically.
  • Unmatched lines are shown separately, so nothing slips through.
  • Counting and confirmation happen by barcode scan, and the result is compared immediately.

Three ways to receive, one flow

Order-based receipt

Receiving against an open purchase order. Expected and delivered are compared instantly and the variance shows on the same screen.

Free receipt

An inbound with no order behind it. Samples, gifts, urgent supply — the record is still created, so stock is never blind.

Return receipt

Goods coming back from a customer are received as a distinct transaction, recorded together with the condition they returned in.

Where this matters most

  • Food and beverage

If the lot and date of an incoming batch are not captured at receipt, no traceability step after it can work.

  • Automotive supply

A missing or off-order part stops the production line directly; the gap has to be seen at the door.

  • Chemicals and hazmat

For hazardous goods, recording the document completely at inbound is a legal obligation, not a preference.
