AI in the warehouse: entering transactions by voice and barcode with your hands full

Where AI helps in a warehouse is not chat but the moment of recording. Scanning the item and saying "3 cases to A-12" should be enough, while the final word always stays with a person.

Warehouse software usually puts AI on the manager's screen: it summarises reports and comments on charts. Yet mistakes are born at the handheld. An operator with a case in one hand and a terminal in the other hunts for a field, keys a quantity, picks a shelf from a list. Recording slows down, the wrong field gets picked, and "I'll enter it later" happens.

What voice has taught the WMS world

Voice picking has been used in warehouses for a long time. Its strength comes not from voice itself but from the discipline it sets up: the system says something, the operator answers, the spoken number is read back, and nothing unconfirmed is recorded. That discipline is what must be kept when AI moves to the floor. However well a model understands, trust ends the moment it guesses a quantity or a shelf.

How AI Mode works in iyibir WMS

AI Mode is a shell inside the mobile app that runs warehouse work. Each conversation is one transaction, such as goods receipt, transfer or relocation. A short press on the on-screen trigger scans a barcode; holding it down listens.

  • You scan the item with the camera; it lands in the conversation as context.
  • You say or type "3 cases to A-12"; a line card appears. Barcode plus a short line sentence is resolved by rules without a model call.
  • If the label will not scan, say the code: "VD-08 3 cases to A-12". The item is looked up by code first.
  • A spoken line is read back in the device's voice: "3 cases, shelf A-12. Shall I add it?" "Yes" only adds the line to the basket.
  • The basket goes through the same preview as the manual screens; writing to Logo happens on your approval and the conversation closes with the document number.

Rules that do not change

  • AI never writes to Logo on its own; every record goes through a preview and a person's approval.
  • AI does not make up quantities or shelves; when unsure it asks with options.
  • No audio is kept: the audio is transcribed on the server and discarded.
  • AI Mode works with the signed-in person's permissions; it cannot see what that person cannot see.
  • A send whose outcome is uncertain is not repeated; its counterpart in Logo is checked first.

Questions turn into records too

Questions like "Where is this item?", "How much is in stock?" or "Any open orders from this supplier?" come back as table and summary cards. Under each card sits the button for the next job: relocate, receive goods. The question is not asked and forgotten; the answer starts the work.

A dispatch-note photo becomes a draft too

With Scan document in AI Mode, the supplier's dispatch note or invoice is photographed, or the box labels are scanned. The photo is read on the server and not kept; the supplier and lines read are matched with Logo, each line is marked "Certain", "Check" or "Not found", and no product is invented for a line that is not found. The result is a goods receipt or order receipt draft; writing to Logo still goes through preview and approval.

AI jobs deduct credit equal to their real cost; scanned barcodes and box labels use no credit. When the organization's credit is not enough for a job, no new job can start and a job already started is completed.

Step by step: Entering a goods receipt line by voice in AI Mode

  1. Open AI Mode in the mobile app and start a new transaction with "Receive goods".
  2. Scan the item with the camera, or say its code if the label will not scan.
  3. Hold the trigger and say the quantity and shelf: "3 cases to A-12".
  4. Listen to the line read back; if correct say "yes" and the line goes into the basket.
  5. Open the basket with Preview and approve, complete any missing lot or shelf, and send it to Logo.

Frequently asked questions

Does AI Mode post to Logo on its own?
No. AI prepares the line; the record is written to Logo only after the same preview as the manual screens and a person's approval.
Is what I say recorded?
No audio is kept. The audio is transcribed on the server and discarded; only the resulting line text stays in the transaction conversation.
What happens when the credit runs out?
When the organization's credit is not enough for a job, no new job can start; a job already started is completed. Once credit is added you can continue where you left off.
