Before moving to a WMS: is your Logo stock data ready?

A warehouse management system does not fix bad data; it speeds it up. Negative stock, stock without a shelf and items without barcodes come back as floor errors from day one. Look at the data first.

Most problems in the first week of a WMS project come not from the software but from master data in the ERP. An item without a barcode cannot be scanned, stock without a shelf never enters a picking route, negative stock produces count variances nobody can explain. These should be seen before go-live, not after.

What readiness looks at

In warehouse management, data readiness is usually measured with the same questions: is the stock record physically possible, is every unit of stock somewhere, can every item be scanned, is date information complete for tracked items, are dimensions and weight enough for slotting? Logo already holds the answers; the point is to see them together.

The Data Health Scan in iyibir WMS

The manager starts the scan in the web panel. It reads Logo data only and runs seven checks:

  • Negative stock
  • Stock not assigned to a shelf
  • Active items without a barcode
  • Lot- or serial-tracked stock with an empty expiry date
  • Slow-moving stock
  • Items with missing dimensions
  • Count variance history

The result is a score from 0 to 100. Opening each check shows what was found, why it matters, how to fix it and sample rows. The report prints or saves as PDF. Fixes are made in Logo; the scan writes nothing to Logo.

How to use the score

  • Before go-live: start with the weakest check, fix it in Logo, then scan again.
  • After go-live: the change in the score shows as its own row in the manager's morning briefing.
  • This scan measures the readiness of Logo data; warehouse health on the Performance screen measures the health of the work in the warehouse. The two should not be confused.

Step by step: Running Logo data through the Data Health Scan

  1. Open Analysis › Data Health Scan in the web panel and press Start scan.
  2. Note the score and the weakest check; open the check and look at the sample rows.
  3. Apply the steps in its "How to fix" section in Logo.
  4. Use Scan again to see the change in the score.
  5. Save the report with Print / PDF and share it with the team.

Frequently asked questions

Does the scan change anything in Logo?
No. The scan only reads Logo data; fixes are made in Logo itself.
Who can run the scan?
Only the WMS manager. The result and report are for the manager too.
Is the score the same as warehouse health on the Performance screen?
No. The Data Health Scan measures how ready Logo data is for WMS; warehouse health on Performance measures the health of the work in the warehouse.
